Building an Effective Protocol to Manage Dogs with Valve Disease

This learning module is designed to guide veterinary practitioners and animal health professionals in creating and implementing effective management protocols for dogs with heart valve disease. The module covers the pathophysiology and clinical presentation of common heart valve diseases, including mitral and tricuspid valve diseases. Participants will learn to develop individualized treatment plans based on the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) guidelines and  incorporating diagnostic tools.

Key topics include medication management, dietary recommendations, and monitoring strategies. Through sample studies, learners will enhance their ability to create comprehensive, evidence-based protocols that improve patient outcomes and quality of life. By the end of this module, participants will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively manage heart valve disease in dogs.
